Alumni Spotlights
Nimna Gabadage (B.S. ’23)
Right now, I work in Washington, DC, as Manager of Partnerships and Strategy at Gravity Research, a strategic intelligence and advisory firm launched in 2023 by National Journal Group. We support more than a hundred Fortune 1000 companies in navigating the world’s most pressing sociopolitical issues and reputational crises, and I manage the accounts of over two dozen corporations while serving as the primary contact for C-suite leaders. Before this, I worked at a public affairs firm in Virginia. Along the way I have also been fortunate to stay engaged outside of work, serving on FSU’s Young Alumni Council, being part of the Council on Foreign Relations’ Young Professionals briefing series, and recently serving a term as a national youth advisor to the nonprofit Young Invincibles.
That commitment to service and leadership started at Florida State. My time as student body president, and in GGK and student involvement at-large gave me a strong foundation and instilled not just skills, but values that I still carry into every room I step into today.
I’m proud to be part of this legacy, and I know the work GGK and our student leaders are doing now will continue to echo far beyond campus. This year is another chance to lead intentionally, invest in one another, and to keep proving why the FSU community is one of the most powerful networks in the country. Go Noles!
Hannah Kelsey (B.S. ’21)

My name is Hannah Kelsey, and I graduated from Florida State University in 2021 with a degree in Industrial Engineering. I had the honor of being involved in Garnet & Gold Key from my freshman year, when I was a Torch Night recipient, to my senior year, when I had the privilege of serving as President. GGK is without question one of the most impactful organizations at FSU, and it played a defining role in shaping both my personal and professional journey.
What makes GGK so special is the community. I was constantly inspired to grow by being surrounded by like-minded, driven students who cared deeply about leaving FSU better than they found it. Networking with such a diverse group of leaders gave me friendships, fresh perspectives, and opportunities that extended far beyond the classroom.
My advice to future students: take advantage of GGK events, socials, and town halls – even if you’re not yet a member. These free opportunities for leadership and professional development are open to the FSU community and can be transformative. For me, GGK became a launching pad into deeper campus involvement – whether it was defending my academic research through the Presidential Scholars Program, serving as Vice President of Alpha Delta Pi, or representing GGK on Homecoming Court and being named Homecoming Princess. If you aspire to become an impactful leader at FSU, there is truly no better place to begin than Garnet & Gold Key.
Since graduating, I’ve earned my Master of Engineering and launched my career in the medical device field, where I now work in Oncology Sales in Boston, focusing on Glioblastoma – a rare and aggressive brain tumor. The lessons I learned through GGK, and the mentorship of leaders like Dr. Craig Filar and our dedicated advisors, continue to shape how I approach leadership, growth, and service.
To anyone considering getting involved: do it! GGK will unlock the key to leadership within yourself, and the experiences and relationships you gain will stay with you long after you leave FSU.
